Alex is currently a creative director at Blink, a full service creative production studio, and a guest host at SiriusXM, where she anchors live shows and commentates on news events. As a creative director, Alex works with brands through all stages of the production process — from concepting ideas, to on-set execution, and overseeing post — on television commercials, branded documentaries, and social content. In the media, Alex has served as a morning show host, interviewing presidential candidates and Oscar-winners alike, directed short documentaries about LGBTQ+ people and social issues, produced and anchored content about pop culture and trending topics, and covered issues impacting women for a range of outlets.

On camera, Alex was previously a co-host of AM to DM, a daily morning show from BuzzFeed News, where her interviews with newsmakers from pop culture fixtures to politicians regularly made headlines, a correspondent for Mic Dispatch, a documentary series for the website Mic, a host of the Elite Daily dating show Backseat Blind Date, which received over eight million views, and a host and producer for the BuzzFeed video series #TheBuzz, covering entertainment and top stories. In audio, she served as host of the SiriusXM special series The Issues about the 2020 primaries, a co-host of the I’m From Driftwood Podcast for three seasons, the host of The LGBTQ Nation Podcast, a weekly podcast covering topics about queer and trans people, and the host of Lambda Legal’s inaugural podcast, Making the Case.

As a director and producer, Alex helmed the branded documentary series Authentic Voices of Pride for LGBTQ Nation and has served in a range of producing roles, from overseeing editorial production and managing a control room, to scripting series and overseeing edits, to booking guests and coaching talent. She served as a supervising producer for AM to DM, a producer at HuffPost Live, and as an associate producer at Daily Beast, where she shot and edited videos as a one-woman band on the campaign trail and beyond.

Outside of production, Alex writes about topics like reproductive health care, queer culture, and personal essays for outlets including NBC News, Teen Vogue and OUT Magazine.

As a proud queer femme, Alex has been featured on television shows and panels, and highlighted for her personal style and funky hair. Her work has received Anthem, Shorty, and Muse awards, nominated for GLAAD Media Awards, screened at NewFest, and an honoree in the Webby’s News & Politics category. She holds an M.S. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a B.A. from Cornell University.
